From the President:

September 27, 2005.

Dear Members and Friends,

Ooooooh - is that the ghosts and ghouls that I hear warming up for their "big" day? If it is, then it must be October. I hope everyone enjoys themselves on this day.

Thank you for allowing me to represent you at our recent State Meeting. Our State Director, Eddie Wills, led a very interesting and informative meeting. She kept the meeting moving right along and we conducted the State business at a good pace. We elected our officers for the 2006-2007 year at this meeting. The following will be your officers:
State Director-Elect: Robin Fawkes, CCCA, CPIW.
Public Relations Chair Elect: Tish Riley, CPIW.
Membership Chair Elect: Suzanne Ryan, ARM, CPIW.
Delegate to Region VIII Elect: Gerry Mellen.
Alternate Delegate Elect: Sally Nordwall-Echols, CLU, CPIW.

The following were the award winners:
     AAMGA Award: Christina Lee.
CA State Meeting Participation Award: Bakersfield Insurance Professionals.
Gayle Reskin Angel Award: Pamela Holt, CPIW.

Communicate With Confidence contest winners:
Runner-Up: Deborah Ann Paladino, CIC, CPIW - IWLA.
Winner: Cathy Temple, AIS, CPIW - IWOF.

For those of you who like to plan ahead, mark you calendars for the next several years for these upcoming State Meetings:
2006 - San Francisco Chapter of NAIW.
     2007 - Insurance Professionals of Kings-Tulare Counties.
2008 - IWLA (our sister association - yes, we will help!).

Check the state newsletter for all other business conducted at the meeting. This is also a great resource for all of us. Our National President reads it cover to cover, so maybe we should follow her example (think about reading 50 state newsletters!) and read our own. Our State Director, Eddie Wills, is a wonderful person and will listen to anything we want or need.

Please see this bulletin for information on our October program. We look forward to seeing all of you at our next meeting.

Yours in fellowship,
Ruth Uridel, CPIW.
