From the President:

November 4, 2004.

Dear Members and Friends,

A belated Happy Halloween and an early Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! Can Christmas be far behind at this rate? The answer is NO! Are we all getting ready for this or are we all going to wait until the 24th of December? I have no answer to this one, but your board of directors is busy planning a CE day for you and everyone else in February, 2005. There will be more to follow on this subject as soon as we iron out the details, but look forward to this event and bring not only a friend, but your entire office to this one.

Remember our November 9th meeting has been changed to November 6th, when we meet with State Director Michelle Epstein for an interesting round table on the future of NAIW and our local associations. Please mark your calendars for this important change in dates and join us.

Now is the time to start gathering up those wrapped gifts for the Holiday Party on December 14th at Kriss Halperin's house. Once again, we will be donating our profits to the Glenwood Care Center for the residents. This is not only a fun party, but the cause is a good one.

Well, until next month, I leave you----

Yours in fellowship,
Ruth Uridel, CPIW.

COMFORT ZONE.

The temptation when the path to success gets too bumpy is to leap back into the comfort zone. Don't. Keep pushing forward, always forward. The comfort zone is the land of dreams and wishes. Success is the land of good results, where all those dreams come true.

NOTICES.

The November general meeting is not on Tuesday, but Saturday, 11/6/04. See details in the meeting notice.

The 11/6/04 Meeting Topics are as follows:

1. Whether it be State, Regional or National meeting, there is always discussion regarding retention of our members. What do you think we can incorporate within our local associations to encourage retention?
2. On the Local level, we make many decisions based on "value added". How would you define the term "value added" and what would you consider to be value added attractions of NAIW.
3. Mentoring our new members is frequently discussed as being critical to membership retention. How would you suggest implementing a mentoring program at the local level?
4. At the recent Northern Cal ICC meeting, one association president mentioned the possibility of incorporating the Horizon Plan for their Association. Please briefly outline the Horizon Plan and how it's implementation would benefit local associations.
** 5.     We are now discussing the redistricting of the California Associations to enable the State Director to visit all Associations during her term. Please briefly discuss your position and it's pros and cons.
6. How do you think we can become more visable within our community and create interest in joining our association?

** This is the topic assigned to IWVC members. Each association is assigned a topic. We are to give our points of view, then our sister association members can counter or discuss.
