Dear Members and Friends,
Congratulations to Betty Martin, our new Insurance Woman of the Year 2004/05! Betty is a wonderful person and an asset to IWVC in every way. She is always so cheerful and willing to help out in any way at the drop of the hat. We are very lucky to be able to count her as a member. Thanks, Betty, for being there for us!
Can you believe that our IWVC year is almost at an end? June will be our last meeting of the year, as we go dark in July. In August, we will have a Kick-Off Bar-B-Que. Our installation of officers will be held at Sue Zeider's house in Fillmore. If you have not been to this wonderful old house, you have truly missed a treat. Please join us for a fun evening. Thank you, Sue, for inviting us into your home.
On June 2nd, I will be going to the National Conference for NAIW to represent you. If you have any concerns or questions, please call me prior to that date and I will take them to National for you.
This is our last news letter of the IWVC year - mark your calendars for August 10th, 2004, for our Kick-Off Bar-B-Que. Looking forward to seeing you in June.

Notice of increase in meeting prices:
Due to the increased cost of menu items at the Marriott Courtyard, we are increasing our dinner meeting prices to $21.00 per person (when we hold our meeting there). This will include coffee, tea, or soft drink, but does not include dessert. Members and guests are required to pay separately for their own alcoholic beverages and desserts.

A man pulled into a gas station of the outskirts of town. As he filled his tank, he remarked to the attendant "I've just accepted a job in town. I've never been to this part of the country. What are people like here?"
"What are people like where you came from?" the attendant asked.
"Not so nice," the man replied. "In fact, they can be quite rude."
The attendant shook his head. "Well, I'm afraid that you will find the people in this town to be the same way."
Just then, another car pulled into the station. "Excuse me," the driver called out. "I'm just moving to this area, is it nice here?"
"Was it nice where you came from?" the attendant inquired.
"Oh, yes! I came from a great place. The people were friendly and I hated to leave."
"Well, you'll find the same to be true of this town."
"Thanks!" yelled the driver as he pulled away.
"So, what is this town really like?", asked the first man, now irritated with the attendant's conflicting reports.
The attendant just shrugged his shoulders. "It's all a matter of perception. You'll find things to be just the way you think they are.".
