From the President:

February 1, 2004.

Dear Members and Friends,

Happy St. Patrick's Day to one and all - it's the one day a year when everyone is Irish - so live it up!

This month, Sandy Young and I will be going to the Regional conference in Dublin, California. We wish all of you could come with us. Since that's not going to happen, if you have any questions or concerns for the State or Regional people, please tell us and we will get you answers. I look forward to reporting this conference to you, as I always enjoy these meetings. Thank you for sending me to represent you!

Since May is just around the corner, we have been busy planning the May Dinner. It takes a lot of work, but every year we can all see that it's well worth it. This year's theme is "And the Future is Bright", because it is, at least for the Insurance Women of Ventura County. Remember to ask your company reps and employers for door prizes. This is our only fund raiser of the year and it takes everyone asking to get the door prizes for this event. More on this in future letters.

If you missed our dress sale in February, you missed an excellent opportunity to purchase beautiful clothes at a great discount. Hopefully, we will be able to have this kind of sale again in the future for you.

We are all looking forward to this month's program. Craig from 101 Collision is our speaker. He will walk us through the claims and repair process. Please come, and bring a friend with you.

Looking forward to seeing you at the March meeting.

Yours in fellowship,
Ruth Uridel, CPIW.

A Frog Walked Into A Bank.

A little humor for your day!

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack. "Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name.

The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000 and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

(you're gonna love this)

(it's a real treat)

(a masterpiece)

(wait for it)

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

"It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."

(You're singing it, aren't you?)
